Ceremonial Grade Decluttering Support

Your home is a reflection of you.

Let’s clear what no longer serves you and make space for who you’re becoming.

Welcome to Quiet Altar

Home is a place for comfort, rest, connection and reflection.

It’s all too easy in this modern day to accumulate more than we need or even want in our homes! Often we’re holding on to items that don’t fit us anymore, or that we don’t truly love or use.

Quiet Altar is an invitation to cultivate a more present and reverent relationship with your home environment. This isn’t just about getting rid of stuff, but about being honest with yourself about who you are now, what your values are, and what home means to you.

We’ll honor your home decluttering experience as a threshold, letting go of items that reflect old versions of yourself, and making space for you to breathe and stretch into.

Hi! I’m Mari Mu

minimalist-inspired maximalist and sacred space enthusiast

I’m your compassionate and motivated decluttering doula, bringing a whoosh of magic and enthusiasm to the process of simplifying your home!

I’ve designed this offering with care and sensitivity to honor both the practical and emotional aspects of decluttering. This will be a meaningful and memorable experience that will support you in feeling more ease in letting go of stuff well after our work together.

I honor how vulnerable it can feel to bring a stranger into your home to go through your things — not to mention how intense it can feel to release a lot at once! I bring 20 years as a therapeutic practitioner and space holder into the process, offering attunement and respect, and meeting you right where you are.

I can’t wait to connect and support you in clearing stagnant energy and bringing fresh flow into your home!

Our Journey Together

  • Opening Session

    1-hour preparation session
    • scheduled during the week before your first declutter day
    • held in person at my home in Glassell Park (Northeast LA) or virtually

This session lays the foundation for our work together. Before moving into action, we’ll slow down, have a cup of tea, connect, and clarify your intentions for the decluttering process.

    We’ll explore:

    • your relationship to home
    • how you want your home to feel
    • your challenges and hopes around simplifying
    • themes that are present in your life right now
    • how simplifying your home can support your future self
    • how you prefer to be supported in decision making (with options to choose from)

I’ll also share perspectives and approaches that may be helpful, and we’ll create a clear, realistic plan for your first declutter day!

  • Clearing Your Space

    5 hours of in-home hands-on decluttering support

I’ll arrive ready to work together in your space, with attention to both the task at hand and how the process feels for you.

    You Will Receive:

    • steady guidance throughout the entire process
    • physical support with sorting, lifting, and moving items
    • a compassionate sounding board for decisions that feel complicated or emotionally layered
    • gentle encouragement around all your Yes’s and No’s, with space to explore what arises in all the in-betweens
    • help maintaining momentum and focus, while staying responsive to your pace and capacity
    • ongoing attunement, including intuitive check-ins to sense when it may be helpful to slow down, shift focus, or pause

    Session Structure:

We’ll begin with a brief check-in (about 5 minutes) and a few grounding breaths. You’ll show me the areas you’d like to focus on, and we’ll decide together where to begin.

The five hours are split into two 2.5-hour working sessions with a one-hour break in between. Decluttering can be mentally and emotionally demanding — this break allows time to rest and reset before the second stretch.

With about one hour remaining, we’ll assess what’s realistic to complete and begin winding down. This gives us time to tidy the space, integrate the work, and end the day feeling settled. We’ll close with a short pause to reflect on what we’ve accomplished and note any insights that may support future sessions.

Additional support is available by the hour or through additional five-hour sessions.

  • Elevate

    (optional add-on post-clearing)

Bring your home to the next level and transform it into a ceremonial space.

We’re talking dimmer switches, vibrant lush plants, 100% natural botanical scents, soft beeswax candlelight, cozy inviting pillows and natural fiber blankets.

We’ll also build an altar of beautiful and meaningful objects gathered from around the house or property, to help root your visions for your new chapter.

This will be a collaborative process and unique to you and your home. ♡

This is for you if…

  • You ...

get overwhelmed when trying to edit your belongings

  • You ...

find yourself rationalizing keeping a lot of stuff you don’t use, and you get the feeling that deep down you’re ready to let go of more

  • You ...

can have a hard time making decisions about what to keep and what to let go of, and you get stuck and then give up

  • You ...

get emotional at the thought of getting rid of items from the past but they’re just stored away taking up space physically and possibly energetically

  • You ...

would like to deepen your relationship to your home, and relate to it as a sacred space that’s holding you through this spiritual experience called Life

  • I’m your enthusiastic new friend who happens to be a total nerd about decluttering! My style is warm, playful, and direct. I’ll keep us moving while adding curiosity, compassion, and humor, so decluttering feels productive AND fun!

  • I bring a deeper, more reflective approach to decluttering. We’re not only addressing the physical aspects of simplifying, but also exploring your relationship to consumerism, your environment, and how you relate to the space around you. It’s an invitation to get curious about yourself, notice what really matters to you, and create a home that reflects that.

  • It really depends. The amount we get through can vary based on the space, the type of items, and how much emotional or sentimental attachment is present. Everyone also moves at their own pace when making decisions. Your first declutter day will give us a good sense of how things flow, and we’ll have a clearer idea of what to expect for future sessions.

  • I love your enthusiasm! Being ready to dive in is such a good sign that the timing is right.

That said, this work is about more than just clearing space — it’s also about inner reflection and getting intentional about your home. If that kind of thoughtful approach doesn’t appeal to you, we might not be the best fit.

I want this process to be efficient, satisfying, and meaningful, and I’ve seen how much smoother and more lasting the results are when we start with a strong foundation.

  • Every home and every pace is different. Your first declutter day gives us a clear sense of what’s realistic for you, and we’ll use that to plan the rest of your home.

  • Not exactly. Professional organizers often focus on creating systems and beautifully arranged spaces. My work is more about simplifying, decluttering, and minimizing —helping you clear space in a way that makes organizing on your own much easier. I’m always happy to offer my perspective or suggestions along the way.

  • Very intentionally: no. Your home is yours, and this process isn’t about creating “picture-perfect” spaces. It’s about how it feels to live in your home: how it supports you, gives you room to breathe, and reflects what truly matters to you.
